Welcome to the August Edition of our Monthly Newsletter! July was brimming with joy and meaningful connections here at Poppins Bush School. We began the month with vibrant NAIDOC Week celebrations (July 1st–10th), welcoming special guests from Peel High School (Students and Teachers) and the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council members. Their visit’s provided a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn, connect, and celebrate Aboriginal culture and community. Students from Peel High School also led a beautiful painting session, encouraging creativity and meaningful conversations. Mid-month brought the cosy magic of Pyjama Week (July 13th–17th), filled with creativity, laughter, and comfort. Thanks to the generosity of our families, we raised $90.85 to help support foster children. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated to make the week such a success.

Looking Ahead to August
We will be holding a Flanno for a Farmer Day on Friday the14th August, all donations will go to the Farm Angels organisation to help farming families.
From August 24th – 28th, we'll be celebrating Book Week—one of our favourite times of the year! We can't wait to see all the imaginative characters your children bring to life through their costumes. We will also be hosting a BookFair this year, before and during book week from the August 17th –28th
The week was filled with excitement as the children gathered outdoors to take part in engaging group activities led by our educators and special visitors. Through music, movement,art, and storytelling, the children enthusiastically joined in, following actions, asking questions, and enjoying the opportunity to learn together.
These experiences encouraged the children to explore the importance of respect, connection, and community while celebrating the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Seeing everyone participating with such enthusiasm highlighted the joy of learning through shared experiences.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our NAIDOC Week celebrations so meaningful. We look forward to continuing to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into oureveryday learning throughout the year.
